Born in 1975, Eva Strehler grew up in East Berlin, Germany. Ever since she began studying English and French, traveling abroad has been an integral part of her life. She has worked in France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and in the townships of South Africa. She specialized in marketing and fundraising. In 2025, Eva Strehler moved to Hampshire in southern England. Her first major solo motorcycle trip took her through the USA for six months. In 2024, she set out eastwards for an eight-month journey, taking her dog Polly in a sidecar. They ended up spending three months in Iran. Eva Strehler’s books focus on meeting people along the roads, experiences of freedom, and traveling off the beaten track.
